When creating a group, what should I put it under? Games? Or fan club? XD

if we can get a big add banner (probably 400X400) plus a small story about DL kind of describing it then a little description of the site I can post on all the image studios I know of... I did this once before but the problem is they constantly change layouts and in doing so reset their boards so my adds don't stay forever. The studios are full of rpers looking to get images so f I have a decent add template we could probably get quite a few good rpers ><

i'm assuming there'd be a nice conveinent link somewhere to the site where we'd vote?
but either way, i'm definately up for it. i've checked those list sites out before, and i definately think our site is one of the better ones i've found (and the most active, or maybe i'm just not searching right).

in other words, i would be sure to vote as often as possible.

Ok I really like both ideas but the main concern I have is the voting one on the top rpers site...you are going to attract a lot of attention from the RP sights higher than ourselves especially if we jump up the board with our own members voting.
My worry is that the people from the higher Rp sight will try and get into Daeluin as either a hacker or someone who just wants to be impolite to our members.
I personally feel that creating a banner for our friends to to view on either myspace or facebook is the safer option (btw its thanks to a link on neopets ove 6yrs ago I joined discovered and joined sites like Daeluin).
Also I think the banner idea is safer as well as there is a facebook group already for the members of Daeluin =D

Plus, we used to do this a looooong time ago...when Perth was admin. Nothing bad ever happened then.

I don't have any friends outside of DL who roleplay, and the friends I have on Facebook and Myspace wouldn't be be people who could roleplay.

I think the voting thing is the best idea.

lol I never implied I have little faith in Zarath, in fact to run a sight like this is impressive...but say we get really really high on the voting board...I'm worried that multiple players from the leader rp site will try and make this one corrupt? or the site lower than us...if we are considering putting ourselves on the board don't you think that other players in other rp sites may have felt the same?...for all we know the place below us might get angry and try and put a trojan on the leader of the site?
On the computer side of view...yes go for it as long as you have back ups...maybe I'm being paranoid but I have seen rp sites wreaked and I really do not want to see it happen to this one.

Point is, someone DID succeed in finding an exploit in the board before.

And it wasn't just "people". It was another programmer. And he failed miserably. I think we'd be ok. =]

A) I would so want to see that film, hacker planted or not... I mean, c'mon, that is by far one of the cooler things I've heard someone do with thier hacker skills.

B) Every forcible entry made on the site has always been fixed by Jamie, so I am sure that he would be able to keep up with whatever MAY happen... I honestly don't believe that there are that many malicious people who run RP sites, to be honest.

Also, I do have other suggestions... like Jamie said before, if the site had a dedicated artist for several things, e.g. a main head banner, towns, elaborate maps, etc. it would be a big blessing, particularly if the site pick sup steam. Furthermore, I have suggested this in the past, but was lambasted about it, I think think that it would be good to have a new slogan... Open your eyes and dream is used all over the place. YES, it is good, I guess, but still, we'd want to aim for independance and creativity, maybe even a TM.

Just for anyone to know we have a Daeluin group on myspace now. If everyone there would join that would be awesome!
