A Secret Prisoner

One week ago, all of Mooncrest was thrown into alarm. A huge explosion erupted from somewhere in the city, bubbling from underground. The Royal Guard flooded the streets and quickly closed off the perimeter of the Castle. Yet suddenly, another explosion rocked the main square and the cobblestones caved in. A dusty young man clambered into the street, dashing quickly through the crowds of shocked onlookers. As he ran, he screamed at the top of his lungs:

“Treachery and treason! They’re hiding it from you! Beneath the castle ets arkska wuarklal!”

His words degraded into unintelligible nonsense. The man did not make it twenty paces before a Royal Mage ensnared him in a net of vines. He was quickly and quietly hauled away, down into the dungeons.

A group of rebels followed down into the dungeons, suspicious of the Monarchy. Rumors had spread that the young man was a rebel agent himself. Whatever his identity, his strange words and his secretive capture had incited suspicion and doubt in the people of Mooncrest. Down in the dungeons, the rebels found the prisoner locked within a cell. He trembled with fear and could not speak. But he managed to say, “Tell them to find me!”, handing a package of strange crystals to the rebel scout. But before the scout could learn more, a guard approached, and the rebel was forced to flee. The next morning, his cell was empty.

The rebel scout returned to the streets of Mooncrest to spread rumors of what he had seen and to distribute the strange crystals. The rebels traveled to every tavern and outpost, wrote to Guilds, and contacted heroes throughout the two continents. They write:

We, the People’s Front of Mooncrest, seek help from any hero brave enough to fight for the freedom of a man wrongly imprisoned. We suspect that a recent prisoner in Mooncrest Castle dungeon has been captured unlawfully and denied fair trial by the Royal Government of Mooncrest. Our operatives spoke with the prisoner briefly. He gave us a bundle of crystals. Our scholars have discovered that these are scrying crystals. They will direct you to the location of the prisoner. We call on you to travel into the lands and find the Befuddled Prisoner. The crystal will direct you closer to his location, but its messages are encrypted somehow. You will need to decipher the meaning of the crystals messages to proceed. When any of you have gathered enough clues to find the Prisoner, rescue him and report back to us in Mooncrest!

Will you seek out the Befuddled Prisoner and learn what he is trying to say? The crystal rings in your hand…

Journey out into Minya Amar to find the Befuddled Prisoner! His location is unknown, but the Scrying Crystal he left with the rebels will lead you onwards. Every member who logs on during this event will receive a crystal. You need only post once to activate the crystal. Once you post, the crystal will give you a clue or riddle describing another forum. You will need to post in that forum to receive the next clue. The chain of forums is the same for all users, so you may post in groups. Keep in mind though that every member of your party will need to post in every area. The final forum is only visible to users who have visited all of the previous forums in the sequence. When you have found the final location of the Prisoner, you will need to break the spell that keeps him bound in silence.
Only those who complete the Prisoner’s final riddle will break the curse and reveal the real message! Good luck!

Hmmm.....are all of your characters supposed to receive the crystals? Because ALL mine did....

Question tot he admins: do the prizes have a rhyme and reason? Or are they randomly given out?

Furthermore, are they tradeable?

I can only imagine that it has something to do with Cthulhu, or Ozymandias is down there creating a beast of unspeakable doom which he will teleport to New York city.
