Weeks have passed since the Sun Wyrm first landed in the seas of Daeluin. Brave adventurers have launched thousands of rockets, some helping to repel the wyrm, but many hoping to strengthen it. Even as many Gods and mortal heroes alike battled against it, the wyrm grew more and more resilient, and the World Tree continued to burn, its power in the world slowly waning.

Finally, with the Tree withered and smoldering, the wyrm relinquished its hold, and at last fell away. As bristling and powerful as ever, the Sun Wyrm squirmed away, searching perhaps for another great source of energy and warmth. None saw whence it went.

While motivations for helping the wyrm varied—some wished ill upon the Gods or even upon Daeluin itself; others merely wished to study the wyrm rather than destroy it—the consequences have been dire.

The World Tree appears to be dead, and with it, the power of the Gods has faded. While the Gods remain immortal, much of their divine power has been sapped. Their strength and magical abilities have waned greatly, as if they were mortal once more. The G/G/A will only retain full powers and abilities within their own Temples. It is uncertain how long this weakness will persist, although many suspect the Gods will rise only when the Tree is able to regrow. And none can be certain how long that will take, or even if the Tree can grow at all. This is not an optional plot line. G/G/A found non-compliant with this update should be reported to the Admins.

In addition, it seems that the death of the World Tree has sapped much of life from the world. Drop rates for both gold and items have been reduced.

Finally, in one small victory for the forces of darkness, items of daemonic and dark power have been strengthened. The Daemonic Sword will gain a stat increase of +1 to all stats. Conversely, the Angelic Sword will have a stat decrease of -1 to all stats. It seems that, after struggling beneath the forces of light for many years, the powers of darkness have managed to restore neutrality.

With the entire world in a state of decline, not even the wisest of men and Gods can be sure what the next months will bring. Perhaps the Tree will grow back, restored and rejuvenated by its own ashes. Or perhaps it is forever dead, and in time the Gods, and maybe all magic, will fade from the world.

And all the while the Wyrm sleeps, somewhere, waiting and hungering.

I loved the event, as well. Mucho fun. And the change is definitely different. I am sad about the drop rate (gold wise). But I guess the GGA's couldn't be the only ones punished because of the people who helped the wyrm.

Its bittersweet, it gonna suck for the gold and items part, but with the deities weakened for now, perhaps Krys will get his kingdom more easily, and I'm sure Dilvrae will like this result as well XD

I did, but it made NO difference due to the way someone designed the event. People just fought against the tree because it was easier to do and offered more rewards.

The event was horribly imbalanced towards people wanting to destroy the Tree. I worked my tail off getting rockets to destroy the thing but couldn't keep up. Should have had it so that only one or two colors could have strengthened it instead of all the other colors. I'm just disappointed nothing I was doing seemed to make any difference in terms of this event. While it was a cool idea, I think it could have been better implemented.
