Any violation of these rules can result in being banned or struck.
These rules are applied to the entire DaeLuin site, including to a lesser degree the chatroom and private messages.
If you accumulate 4 strikes, you will be banned from the site, the banning may apply to just that character or your IP address as well.
Lesser strikes (non-harrassment or spamming) may be removed after 6 months, and lesser warnings may be removed after 3 months if a request is posted in the OOC Help Forum.

The administration reserves the right to ban and strike on offences not listed here. This is a list of the most common rules to guide the site, but we strongly express that sometimes obvious and general social rules that are not listed here will be required by the users. Please treat everyone in a kind and courteous manner.

1 - No Spamming
Spamming is completely unacceptable, and is defined as posting/repeating the same thing multiple times, plagiarism or posting general nonsense. If you spam, by the descretion of the admin handling the situation, you may be automatically banned - including your IP address too. Strikes may be given for lesser offenses at the discretion of the admin.
Note 1: If you double-post, you must request for it to be removed within 2 days of the posting time or the post will make you elligable for ban/strike.
Note 2: If you recieve gold or items from a source you are not familiar with, you MUST report these immediently in the help forum. If you recieve gold or items obtained through spamming, you may be banned.

2 - No Harassment
Do not harass other users OOC (out of character) in any way, and do not do it IC (in character) if it offends them OOC or relates to any OOC matters. This includes, but is not limited to, constant flaming or hunting for reasons for a person to recieve a strike.

3 - No God-Moding or Power-Playing
Do not god-mode or power-play. Gods or Guardians may, however it should still be kept to a minimum. If a user's level is higher than another person's, they are more powerful, but god-moding is still unacceptable.
Please refer to the Guide on Rules in the FAQs for more information on what these are.

4 - Battle
In a fight, the user with the highest level will win unless their opponent has far better equipment than them - however, if you're a Level 1 and they're Level 15, you're going to lose no matter what.
Levels do not apply to styles of fighting such as T1 etc (see Fighting Styles in the FAQ for more information on these).

5 - Companions & Items
You are not allowed to make up your own companions and items (excluding basic clothing) unless you have bought them from the shops and have it in your inventory.
You may buy an item to substitute it for another - for example, you may buy an eagle but call it a hawk or a falcon.
Note 1: You can not substitute for items that -are- sold in shops.
Note 2: Posts are given a 1 month expectancy timer. You must hold onto all items used in a role-playing post for at least 1 month after the post has been made.

6 - One Character Per Username
You are limited to one character per username, but this does not mean you may not have multiple usernames. Infants too young to be RPed independently may be RPed on the parent/guardian's account, but as soon as possible they must be transferred to their own account.

7 - No Advertising
You may not make posts advertising websites. You may link to them in your profile, but please do not make posts about it. (Note: Signatures may not include unallowed links and character descriptions may contain off-site character information links, but may NOT be used for advertising.) This includes websites to other playable games.
This also means no advertising through Private Messages (PMs) or the chatroom.
This rule does not apply to daeluin, and general art, file, or picture hosting sites.
Note: This rule is loosely enforced, if you're just posting an informative link or the such, you will probably not be struck for it. If you're concerned, contact a moderator/administrator or post in the help forum first.

8 - OOC Discussion
Try to keep OOC to a minimum on the RP boards, and remember to clearly mark OOC from IC using a suitable method such as parantheses ( ) or a notation such as OOC:. This includes guild halls.

9 - Foul Language
Do not swear unless it is marked out (for example, f***). This does not includes RP forums. R and passworded threads are excluded from this rule.

10 - RP Realistically
RP realistically for the medieval era, meaning you can't go around skateboarding, listening to CDs or slapping others with frozen beavers.

11 - Topic Flags
Respect the flags of a topic. If a topic has a Q, R, P, limit or otherwise clear restriction on the topic abide by it. P, Q and R automatically mean that a topic is private and you must obtain the author's permission to join in.
[Q] refers to a quest topic.
[R] refers to a private topic that contains R rated content. R topics may not contain explicit sexual description that may be considered pornographic in nature, but may contain mild sexual descriptions, excessive violence, etc.
[P] refers to a private topic.
[L:#] refers to a limit number in an open thread. For example [L:3] would mean that only 3 people may join the thread (including topic author).
[W:#] refers to a word minimum limit for the thread.

12 - Spell Combos
Your spell combo must container as many as your spell combo level (+1) or fewer. For example, if your level is 3, you can have a maximum of 4 spells in your combo. You may have 1 extra spell combo for every 5 spell combo levels.

13 - Signature and Avatar Images
Signature Images
You may have a maximum of two images in your signature, one guild banner and one image/banner of your choice.
The guild banner may be no higher than 100 pixels, but may be as long as your personal image/banner.
The personal image/banner may be no larger than 430x475 OR 475x430 pixels.
To find out how large an image is, right-click on it and select Properties. In the window then displayed, there is a section labelled Dimensions. The image size is then displayed next to it.
Note1: Animated images, flash, stream, real media, sound/music or video objects are not allowed in your signature.
Avatar Images
Avatar images must be .jpg or .gif in their file nature (extension). Avatar images must not be over 50kbs in size, but may be animated if you so wish. Avatar images are not to exceed the dimensions of 160 x 160.

14 - Glitches and Errors
Do not take advantage of board glitches or errors, simply report them. If you take advantage of a glitch/error (for example, using it to get extra gold/items without earning them) you may be automatically banned.

15 - Race Combinations
You may not have an entirely obscene combination of races for your character. If it goes too far, you will be asked to change it by an Admin, Inner Council or High Council member. If you do not comply, you will receive a strike.

16 - Multiple Languages
Do not post/write the same thing in multiple languages. There is no reason to do this other than to gain gold. Writing the same thing over and over within one post is also counted within this rule. If you are found to be doing this, you will be struck or banned, dependant on the administrators discretion.
Note a: If you write something in another language, such as elven, translations may be given through Private Messages.

17 - RPing with Yourself
You may not RP with yourself. This is defined as posting twice or more in a row with the same account.

18 - Debates
Users may not engage in arguments/debates on a specific subject unless it is posted on the Debate Forum. Any topics that turn into a debate are to be reported to a Administrator so they can be moved to the Debate Forum. Any topics made purposely, and clearly for debating outside the Debate Forum will result in the poster being struck.

19 - Gods, Goddesses and Guardians
You may not claim that you are a God/Goddess/Guardian (G/G/G) if you are not one. G/G/Gs are indicated by their title under their use avatar in posts or in their profile. This includes "fallen" G/G/G, unless you were previously a G/G/G.
Note: This extends to direct relations to any type of G/G/G, including invented ones. You may not claim you are the son, mother, father, sister, brother, etc of a G/G/G unless the actual G/G/G of the site have given you permission. If they fall, it must be changed to fallen G/G/G.

20 - Age Limit
Your character can be no older then 3000 years of age, with the exception of G/G/Gs and ex-G/G/Gs whom can be any age they wish.
