Okay, it's been an EXTREMELY long and tiring day... and now it's 2am and the forum is finally in a state I'm happy to reopen it for posting.

First, I began propogation of the new name servers over 12 hours ago. A good majority of people will be able to access this site now. But some of the slower ISPs may take upto another 36 hours. So if your friends are still going to the old site, first tell them go to start->run and type in command, then type in winipcfg /flushdns and if that doesn't fix it, they'll need to wait.

Okay, onto forum status. Taz and I have been trying ALL day to back up the old database. This was extremely tiring and difficult, first we had to contend with constant disconnects and refusals of connections. After hours of trying, we waited and it eventually fixed itself... only we ran into corrupted tables, took us a while to figure that out and fix it. Then after all that, we found out this new server is using a new version of MySQL, and Taz had to download a new mysql external program to upload the new database. Anyways, about 12hrs later, we finally got it uploaded.

Files have been tedious too. I had to download over 350 item icons from the old site. I'll probably start uploading them now, but if for some reason teh connection drops while I sleep, I'll finish tomorrow.

IMPORTANT
I am aware there is a good deal of pages missing. I am aware there may be server and script bugs popping up all over the place. I will fix these tomorrow. But it's past 2am and I must sleep. I'll do it first thing when I wake up, so please, just live with what you have. Posting should be fine, which was my main concern.

The server should be much better than our old one, but we'll see how it goes. Have fun everyone!

hurray for Zarath and that other guy lol the shops, inventory, profile and such don't work, and the icons for the different formatting are missing, but at least we have the forum around still lol

Aww. I feel so special. You guys did this all for everyone on this site. Took such a long time. You could have just took longer, gotten more sleep, less headaches, etc. But no. *applause* Chu did it!! And now we are all happy. Thanks!!

Taz is a very cool person but Jamie is far cooler. I doubt that anyone will be whining about any of the 'bugs' and what not though. Hopefully. Thanks again.

Taz is one of my really good rl friends. He's the one that has really helped me a long with web coding etc. I always go to him for help if I can't figure out the answer myself. :)

He did the database transfer to handle the bigger tables. I backed up everything but the posts and pm tables myself, just incase anything happens. But I had lots of trouble uploading them in gz format, for some reason it was saying it executed like 11,000 rows... but only inserted 10. It was extremely odd.

Anyways, back to getting this server up to a more normalized state. :)
