Okay, this is a poll to decide whether or not I'm going to add a Casino to the site.

Basically, I have a script already written, but I was looking over it and it looks... badly written. So it will take a while for me to go over all the scripts and rewrite them to a decent quality (will also let me spot possible exploit holes, if there are any...)

So, before I spend a large amount of my time on this, I want to know if people will use it and if it's worth adding it to the site? You'll be able to bet and win gold (and possibly items). But obviously chances are you can lose your money too.

So, opinions? :)

Question: what types of games would be available in the casino?
I'm guessing some basic dice games and card games... but anything else/anything specific?

Other than that, it sounds like an unreliable way to make a quick hundred gold, which is awesome. Thus, I'm for it.

Maybe try it for a while, and see how much it gets used?

I'm not sure if I'd use it, myself, at the moment. Last time I bet gold, it cost me dearly. **stares at empty bank balance**

My opinion is if your bored then go rp! If you wanna play games then go find a free game site and play dice or blackjack. Leave the rp site to what its suppossed to be... bleh yea thats my thought sry...

As I said in my first post... I don't want to waste a lot of time coding it if no one is going to use it. I could be doing something else (like playing WoW)...


The games are, I think, Keno, Blackjack, Craps, Slotmachine and luckyace (never played this game, not sure what it is...)

I could obviously add more if it's popular.

Well, I think this is a bad idea.

I understand that Dae Luin has become more than an just RP game. It's a huge on line commuity and some people come here to just talk, chat, and hang out.

However it still revolves around RPing. Putting up casio takes away from the main purpose of the site. To Role Play. I could see alot of people wasting all the time in the casinos...more spam because people want gold to play the games and such.

So no I am not for it.

o0 I am REALLY good at texas-holdum and I LOVE playing poker :( I would luff that.

Isn't a slot machine a little.. too.. electronic.. for this time period?

It could just be changed to 3 dies with pictures or something... I was just telling you what it basically is.

I think it's a good idea. As long as the payouts aren't extreme, keeping the maximum winning amount to around 200 gold. All other winnings could be 10/20/30, etc, and that way people who want to roleplay won't lose out if they choose not to use the casino.

I'm kind of neutral on this. o.0'' Like, I think it would be kind of fun if you based the games on this time period...but then I think it would take most of the attention away from people actually roleplaying.

(You know...though, you should bring back that bar thing. ;) )

i tinhk its a good idea myself. after all, if people can somke drink and all that jazz why not gamble? :P i know i'd gamble lol though i'd end up losing more then i'd make XD but oh well ^^; i enjoy the idea of a casino since people did gamble...o.o; though card games were never what i heard of for that time...more physically demanding wagers were made XD but this is as good as any.

i'd like it more if all the money people lose playing was stored into a giant jackpot that could be won once a week randomly or something. o.o;

i highly doubt people would come here just to play a basic card game...after all sites like pogo are for games and would be much better at it then anything that'd be on this site (just saying that not cause i doubt The Zar, but cause it would be a side attraction so i doubt he'd pour a ton of effort and energy into it....)

I'm still teetering on the fence.

On one side, it would give those who can't RP all that well a second chance to get things that more advanced Rpers can. (Rare companions, higher weapons, better spells, etc.)

On the other hand, it could possibly draw a lot of action from spammers, and the lot of those people...basically the same thing that Rylin said. o_O

However, I think it would work just fine, especially if you made rules saying you couldn't ask for gold just to go play the games and whatever else we little gophers could come up with. ^_~!
